TUSCAN inspired Patio
Italy! You stole a piece of me. I recently had the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to Assisi, Italy. I was not prepared for the magic there and spent so much time wandering the meandering streets, photographing snippets of landscape and architecture that caught my eye. You could get lost in the endless maze of medieval stone structures housing little cafes, boutiques, and artist galleries. What amazed me most was the simplicity of the timeless beauty.
While I never would have described my personal design templates as Tuscan or Mediterranean, something there spoke to me. I was reminded of the character of natural elements. I ran my hands over the aged stone; admired the gorgeous patina in the wood doors. Don’t even get me started on the archways and stucco roofing.
Returning home, new visions for our future patio started to take shape- inspired by all the sights and textures of Assisi. We are several months away from starting on our backyard space in our reno, but I wanted to use this opportunity to show the beginning stages of my design process and hopefully take you along as my vision evolves.
Take a look at the first draft vision for our tuscan inspired patio! Can’t you just feel the cozy early spring nights by the fire, wine around the wood table, coffee next to planters filled with lavender? There’s a lot left to plan, but I love the spark! The first glimpse of memories made in places inspired by what you love.
